The Millers wished to share their favorite recipes with the world. This book includes many of their favorite recipes and memories.

 

Students were assigned to create a cookbook based on a theme. The Millers are a made-up family that loves making food.  Always Room at the Table’s theme is family, it was inspired by family members I know and the different foods they love. I started by painting different plates with watercolors and used these to create the color palette for the book. I was inspired by dinner plates with decorative floral patterns. The green text blocks catch the green of herbs in the recipe photos, stimulating readers' ability to taste the images. The comfortable tone of the book gives a feeling of eating a nice dinner with family.
